Hi! I'm Julie. I'm a designer by day and circus ringleader by night.

You must want to know a little about me, so here's my creative brief: I started my career in the 4th grade when I won a poster contest for a recycling program in our school. It was complete with hand-lettering and what I am sure was the coolest illustration of the earth you can possibly imagine. It was clear; my destiny had been written.

Always the overachiever, I graduated college summa cum laude and hit the ground running. I started at a popular magazine in NWA where I got a crash course in layout, ad development, illustration, copy writing, art directing photo shoots (product, food and luxury home), how to operate on 1-2 hours of sleep on a regular basis and how to survive on coffee, fortune cookies and mints. Since then, I've gained experience in many aspects of design from concept to completion including branding, iconography, package design, web design, interactive PDFs, ePub (ebook) design, in-store display/strategy and experiential marketing. I've worn a lot of hats in my career. Good thing I'm a hat person. I look pretty awesome in a chullo, if I do say so myself. I've worked with many of the largest brands in the world and I've done it with hard work, dedication to the brands and a good sense of humor. I know when to bend the rules and when to break them, though I balance it all with practicality. Sometimes the best solution is the seemingly simplest by design.

I have a passion for storytelling in both written word and design. I'm a color enthusiast. I appreciate the psychology of color and how each choice you make effects the impact of a design. Though I'm not a stranger to black/white or muted palettes, I certainly love my share of bold, rich tones. Branding is my forte. I love the process of meeting with a client to identify their own story, their voice, so I can put together the pieces of their brand puzzle. I enjoy brainstorming and the unique journey each project takes me. There's nothing better than presenting a project to a client and hearing their excitement when they see it all come together. Let me tell you: best high-fives EVER! I love what I do and want to help others find their story and love what they do, too.

Now that you know a little about me as a designer, I'm sure you're still asking yourself, "What about this circus ringleader business?" Well, I also run a monkey farm. Kidding. Mostly. My husband and I have two young boys who keep us on our toes. Being a Mom is the hardest job I have every had, but I gotta tell you, it kicks ass, too. I survive this gig with quick wit, humor, caffeine, wine, and whines. Oh, the whines! And, I get a little help from our 9-year-old boxer, Ellie. She's the little momma in the family and keeps these monkeys in line. When I'm not chasing children through school events, sports and birthday parties, you can find me hiding with a movie, music, a good book, a podcast or in a closet (sometimes with wine). I also love escaping to the woods when I can and you'll almost always find me taking pictures. Photography is another passion of mine, specifically landscape and macro. You can find my instagram feed full of beautiful and ridiculous iPhone snapshots of my life. When I can put copy writing, photography and graphic design together for a project, it makes my heart sing a little and certainly keeps this fire going.

So, that's a little about me. Clearly, we should be friends, right? I'll tell you all about the latest podcast I've been listening to.
